Children's Day out

A new practice has begun in our school. We have planned to take the 5th standard children out weekly once during one session of Wednesday. This outing would enable the children in communication skills, refresh their minds, act as a source of information exchange, also as a practical lesson session.

The first trip was to a tea shop about half a kilometer away from the school. We all had tea and biscuits and a lot of fellowship. Lessons on road safety, agriculture & many other small talk was part of the fellowship.

Tree Saplings Planted

Volunteers from the Parle company came over to the school campus to plant 50 Neem tree saplings. A fine gesture, since trees are what we need to sustain this planet from an early death. The students at school got few lessons on eco-balance; as the 40 strong volunteers, mostly workers of the factory took time off to come and plant the saplings. Their efforts would bear fruit and in years to come we shall see it.

Teacher's Unplugged

It was the turn of the teachers now! To entertain their students, each teacher came up with a fabulous performance through dance, which left the children excited. They saw the side of their teachers, which they had never seen before. This event, to celebrate Children's day, brought the students and their teachers closer together.
If you are supporting our school, then you have a big reason to be proud of us. We are enabling these chilren (who otherwise have no choice) to grow with with adequate education, which would empower them as adults.
If you are not yet, you can see the reason to be part of these process.

During the Diwali Holidays, A Under-14 T10 Cricket Tournament was organised for the boys from the communities closer to the School. 4 teams were registered and the lots were drawn. Every team played 3 matches each after which 2 teams on top with best points and Run Rate were chosen to fight it out in the finals for the trophy. It was exciting to see the small children get involved in a big way and enjoy.

Each match was a 10-10 overs match with 7 players a side.
The highest score by a team was 111 by the HOPE foundation Team.
The Highest individual score was 43 by Shanthi from Ashapuranagar Team.
The finals was between HOPE foundation team and 36th Police Qtrs.
The later won the Trophy.

The success of this tournament has prompted us to plan for an under-18 tournament during Christmas this year.
